The TT OSH Act (as amended) requires each employer with twenty-five or more employees to have a written statement of their occupational safety and health policy specifying the organization and arrangements in place to meet the mandates of the Act, Part II, Section 6(7). Additionally employers with less than 25 employees may be required to have a written statement if directed by the Chief Inspector, Part II, Section 6(8).
We at OSHA services, LLC encourage employers to seek the benefits of written systems and procedures which extend beyond fulfilling legal requirements. A written safety and health program can also boost morale, preserve the health and productivity of employees, and help create a positive safety culture in the workplace.
In an effort to assist businesses in preparing their health and safety policy document, The Ministry of Labour and Small Micro Enterprise Development has provided a guidance document.
